Gold Mine Tavern

Gold Mine Tavern is a Water Street bar and venue that is open 24 hours a day. GMT has been around since 1965 serving downtown Henderson. For that reason, GMT is cornerstone of historic Water Street District. They have plenty of space to have a drink or two. The bar even has several machines to play. Centrally located in Water Street (23 S Water St, Henderson, NV 89015).

Firstly when you walk into Gold Mine Tavern you will realize there is plenty of seating. Additionally, there is a big patio outside. Most of the music is played outside. If you arrive early you can get some seating for the show. Unfortunately, the evening I went the show was canceled.

Even more, you can go to the Gold Mine Tavern and have a great time out at a fraction of the cost of going to “The Strip” or even Fremont street. This is definitely a locals hang out. Furthermore, GMT caters to the local with low and reasonable prices. I was actually able to buy a beer for $3. At the same time, GMT has an happy hour which you can get a beer for $2.

Additionally, the night I went there was a food truck, Vitos Tacos, strategically parked out front. There are plenty of tables to eat at. Of course we brought our tacos into Gold Mine Tavern patio. It was great combination of tacos and beer to wash it all down.

Not to mention all the fun you can have at GMT, it is very close to other fun things. Across the street is Lovelady Brewing. A block away you can find three casinos (Rainbow Casino, The Pass Casino, and Emerald Island Casino). Of course there are additional bars around too – Backyard.

All in all, if you find yourself downtown historic Water Street, stop by the historic Gold Mine Tavern. Besides a good atmosphere, there are plenty of cheap drinks.
