The Mirage

The Mirage is one of the first mega casino opening in 1989. To illustrate, it is a tropical oasis on The Strip. Famous for the volcano out front on Las Vegas Blvd. The hotel has a great atmosphere with a big domed atrium. I always have fun when I go and visit The Mirage. The Mirage is located between Caesar Palace and Treasure Island ( 3400 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 ).

Chiefly, The Mirage has been bought by Hard Rock and will be remodeled. See the volcano before its gone and a guitar is put in its place. They have announced the closing date of July 17 2024. There will be a three year renovation. The volcano will longer exist. See it while you can!

As soon as you pull up to The Mirage you recognize this is a special place. With the huge water area in front with waterfalls and a huge volcano. The volcano is a big draw. To demonstrate, there are nightly shows on the hour between 8pm and 11pm. You may want to arrive a little early to grab a good spot. Just as a fyi… The show can be canceled for bad weather. You will notice this by the red light on top of the volcano. The show is cancelled if the red light is on. More info about the volcano.

The Mirage Volcano

The aquarium

For example, after you pass the volcano, you enter the lobby for check in. You will instantly see a amazing aquarium. As guest wait to check in you can look at all the beautiful fish. In similar fashion, people come to check out the aquarium on its own. You should too! To clarify, it is 20000 gallon saltwater. It has over 400 different types of fish from 80 different species. Subsequently, divers clean the aquarium is cleaned a couple times a week. Additionally, the Aquarium has been voted one in top ten hotel aquarium. It is 53 fee long with 4 inch thick acrylic. More information on the aquarium.

Likewise, the next cool thing as you enter the casino is the atrium. The dome shaped atrium mirrors the front with the tropical oasis. It is very green with lots of plants and flowers. Of course there is another fountain too. For that reason, it is a cool spot and must be check out if your anywhere near by.

The Mirage gaming

Of course The Mirage is a casino and provides all the expected gambling amenities. Moreover, there are plenty of machines to be played. From all the different types of slots. There are plenty of card tables too. The Mirage also has a Sports Book provided by BetMGM. Even more, I really like the decorative horses heads they have through out the sports book area.

The Beatles Love

Besides all the previous mentioned amenities, they house the Cirque Du Soleil The Beatles Love. This is a great show to see. Furthermore, how could you go wrong with Beatles music combined with the spectacular Cirque Du Soleil performers. Here is more information.

The Mirage dining

The casino also has several dining options. They have Otoro, which is Japanese dining. It is next to the atrium and provides a great dining experience. There is also Italian option with Osteria Costa. In addition there is a steak house and California pizza. In addition, there are also plenty of bars scattered about.

In conclusion, everyone should pay a visit to The Mirage. Visit before it gets transformed into the Hard Rock. Especially the volcano. Nonetheless, it is slated to be removed to make room for a giant guitar. Be sure to visit the first mega theme casino to put into perspective and origins of newer hotels on the strip. In contrast, all the new hotels, Fontaine Bleau and Resorts World, are based on the theme mega resorts. All started by The Mirage. Lastly, more info on Mirage site.
