The Strip At Speedway is an awesome way to spend a day. A perfect spot to watch NHRA events. Even better, Is the fact The Strip is one of only two drag strips that have four wide racing. The day I went we had a most awesome time. Located next to Las Vegas Motor Speedway ( 7000 Las Vegas Blvd N, Las Vegas, NV 89115 ).

This is a really great experience. I have never been before this visit. It was so much fun just to walk around the pit areas and check out all the cars up close. For example, you get to see it all. Everything from exhaust and tires, to the engines.

The most interesting things I saw was a engine on display. The block with the head and crank. The fact that these are top fuel nitro motors each are 500 CID / 8.2 ltrs. These monster engines can produce 11,000 horsepower with a top speed of 338. What a beast. Typically, you get one run per build.

To demonstrate, the day we went we splurged and got VIP tickets. This was a great decision. For one, it was in the shade. On a hot Las Vegas day, any and all shade comes in handy. We also had a great view of the starting line. Well worth the extra money.
The Strip At Speedway

The one lasting memory I have is how loud and impactful the starts were. Las Vegas is lucky to have one of the very few tracks that run four wide. Even with the hearing protectors it was LOUD. You could feel the blast off. After a few seconds they hit 333 miles an hour.

In addition, we were able to walk to the other side to see the reverse perspective. There are plenty of vendors there. Selling lots to drink and eat. You could also find other odds and ends.

Also, it is fun to do a little people watching while we there. I saw a motorized shopping cart. In addition there was a couple motoring around in lounge chairs. It was a really fun time.

Most importantly, I want to give a shout out to my favorite place. Be sure to visit Hop Nuts Brewery after the races.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a wonderful way to spend a day, check out The Strip. There is so much to do. The races are great fun. Where else can you see four wide and a car go 333 miles per hour? I will always remember the green light starts. Lastly, you can get more information on The Strip at Speedway site.
